Anchor care home group becomes company with most ‘outstanding’ ratings

Anchor has now become the UK care home provider with the most CQC ‘outstanding’ ratings, with eight ‘outstanding’ ratings across its care homes.

Abbeywood Care Home in Surrey was the latest Anchor care home following an inspection in October.

Mark Greaves, Anchor’s care services director, said: “We strive to continue to raise the already high standards of care in our care homes so for eight of Anchor’s homes to be rated outstanding is an amazing achievement.

“We secured these ratings because of consistent good practice, focusing on person-centered care and putting the wellbeing of the residents at the heart of everything we do and every decision we make.”

Birkenhead Court and Dawson Lodge in Southampton also received ‘outstanding’ ratings from the CQC and 92 of their care homes have been awarded ‘good.’

“I’m proud of all the care home teams who work hard every day to provide our residents with an enabling and motivating environment where they feel safe and happy.

“We welcome such rigorous CQC inspections and clear ratings so older people and their families can see which homes are the best in the country,” Mr Greaves said.
