New Manchester home getting in the community spirit

A Manchester care home, due to open this month, will feature a free facility at its site.

Lakeview, Leigh, Manchester will feature ‘The Hub’ on its premises and will be accessed by social workers, community groups and charities. There will be space for meetings, coffee mornings, fundraisers – even training sessions will be held there.

Jo Roughley, manager of Lakeview, said: “We are passionate about the power of communities. The vast majority of our colleagues and residents are from the local community, and The Hub offers a chance for us to support the causes close to their hearts.

“We appreciate how hard it can be for organisations to find reliable, private venues without losing valuable funds so we are really excited to hosting them when our home opens.”

Lakeview will provide home and specialist care for 30 adults with complex needs. It is expected the new home will create up to 150 jobs.
