Team at Dorchester care home proud as they scoop prestigious people award

A management team at a care home in Dorchester are celebrating after being awarded a prestigious people award.

The home, Culliford House Residential Homes, has been award the Gold accreditation against Investors in People standard, demonstrating their commitment to performance through good people management.

Culliford House is now recognised as an ‘investor in people’ since 2003 and this year the home was awarded Gold and managers said the accreditation has helped support their business objectives and further develop good practices currently in place at the home.

Rita Moors opened Culliford House in 1984 and now her daughter, Suzanne Jackson, is the current registered manager and has been working at Culliford House for 30 years.

Mrs Jackson said: “We pride ourselves in staff retention, training, personal development and flexibility. Staff feel the approach by management makes them feel valued and appreciated and say it’s like working for an extended family and enjoy their work.”

The home employs 33 staff and has previously been awarded a Bronze accreditation in 2012 and Silver in 2014.
