The competition encourages residents and the local community to get involved in gardening as a hobby whether it’s sitting in the garden, planting flowers or striking up a conversation.

The staff team and residents held a ‘flower power’ themed event for this year’s celebrations and decorated the home and garden area with bright flowers.

A panel of judges visited the home with gardening charity Thrive as well as 16 other Hallmark Care Homes before reaching a final decision.

Homes were judged on resident and community involvement, innovation in their garden and the overall experience in the gardens.

Michelle Williams, business administrator at Bryn Celyn Care Home, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the Best Visual Appeal title at Hallmark in Bloom. The residents and team members have worked hard all year to make the gardens a wonderful environment for everyone.”
