Derbyshire provider sells care homes as it slips into administration

A Chesterfield, Derbyshire, care home provider has sold two of its homes as it falls into administration.

Sun Care Homes called in Duff & Phelps – an administration company – back in July. It emerged that Duff & Phelps have sold The Gables care home in Beeston, Nottinghamshire as well as Victoria Cottage care home in Lowdham, Nottinghamshire to unnamed buyers.

Sun Care Homes has experienced deep financial trouble and their latest financial results revealed they owed £524,783 to creditors and have director loans totally approximately £513,572.

The Grange in Beeston, St Michael’s in Brimington, Chesterfield and Ty Gwyn in Enderby, Leicestershire have all continued to trade while the company is in administration.

Sun Care Homes was unavailable for comment at the time of print.
