Dedicated Cherries fan proves it is ‘never too late’

A dedicated football supporter got to experience the VIP treatment at their beloved club, proving it is never too late to tick activities off a bucket list.

Rosalie Carter, a resident at Bupa The Lindsay Care Home in Poole, is a well-known AFC Bournemouth supporter, having supported them since the 1960’s.

Ms Carter hasn’t attended a match for over two years due to declining health and the staff team at the care home decided to take matters in their own hands and contacted Bournemouth football club who happily supplied tickets to their loyal fan.

On the game she attended, the team won 2-0 against West Ham and she met Jeff Mostyn, Bournemouth chairman.

Nicola Blackmore, resident experience manager at The Lindsay, said: “When we heard that Rosalie was a die-hard Cherries fan, we immediately decided to spring into action and see if we could organise a trip for her.

“Ensuring residents get to experience existing and new hobbies are a real priority for us at The Lindsay. She was overjoyed when we told her about the trip.

“I really enjoyed my day trip to see Bournemouth play. It was such a lovely surprise. Able to see the Man of the Match presentation was the cherry on top of the cake!”
