Two care home managers, who work for homes run by Runwood Homes, have organised a fun day for 400 residents.
Laura Glyde and Leigh Anne Cowling organised the events, called ‘A Day to Remember’, at Chelmsford City Racecourse, Essex.
Residents were from 33 Runwood Homes-owned care homes across Essex and Herfordshire where they were treated to live music from Tracey Searle, The Quiet Man and Chris Whitecroft, as well as a raffle and meal.
The fun day is in its second year, run by Ms Cowling – who works at Broomhills care homes, in Rochford – and Ms Glyde, who work at Stafford Hall care home in Benfleet.
The money raised from the raffle will go to the Alzheimer’s society.
Kieun Kwon, Runwood Homes’ associate director of dementia services, said: “It was wonderful to see our residents enjoying themselves and experiencing a concert of this kind.”
