Stockton-on-Tees nursery children visit care home for storytelling week

Young children from Stockton-on-Tees shared their favourite storybook characters with care home residents as part of National Storytelling Week.

The Gruffalo, Peppa Pig, Cinderella and Thomas the Tank Engine were some of those given to residents at The Beeches Care Home.

Audrey Pratt, a resident at The Beeches Care Home, said: “It was so lovely to see the children. They were so polite and the pictures they drew were lovely. It was really nice. I hope to see them again.”

The children from Rosedene Nurseries spent time in the home colouring in the characters as part of the activity.

Jessica Brown, acting home manager at The Beeches Care Home, said: “We’re always looking to build connections with the wider community, such as with Rosedene Nurseries.

“Visits from the children always bring so much energy into the home and really lift the mood of the residents.

“Everyone loved them being here and sharing their favourite storybook characters as part of the National Storytelling Week. We’re all hoping to see them again soon.”
