Somerset Care, who has 28 care homes across the south of England, has recognised and celebrated its staff during their annual awards ceremony.

Held at the Somerset County Cricket Ground in Taunton, the Somerset Care Group Awards identified teams and individuals across 19 different categories including Team of the Year.

Jane Townson, chief executive of Somerset Care, said: “Our annual staff awards event celebrates some of the exceptional people we have in Somerset Care.

“It’s my favourite event of the year, as we hear numerous stories of extraordinary kindness, compassion and service, which illustrate how we’re fulfilling our mission to enhance quality of life and promote independence of older and disabled people.

“We would be delighted for the world to see what these exceptional people do day in and day out.”

The award categories included best newcomer, best contribution to a care environment, volunteer of the year, mealtimes matter, dignity in care, making a difference in dementia care, outstanding support role and support worker of the year.
