Lincolnshire care home walks their way to charity success

A care home in Skegness, Lincolnshire has raised £466 for dementia care through a sponsored walk. Syne Hills care home held the fundraiser in support of Alzheimer’s Society, and did a ‘Memory Walk.’

The walk saw residents, staff and more complete a round trip to Compass Gardens – a local attraction situated near the seaside, Lincolnshire. 38 people took part in the ‘memory walk.’

Cheryl Curtis, activities coordinator at the home, said: “It was such an amazing sight and fabulous experience to witness so many residents, families, friends, children, staff, and supporters all making new memories together.”

The home also held a Hawaiian-themed summer fete and raised £634 for the resident’s comfort fund. The fund is used for outings, entertainment and games – the fund is also going towards a ‘secret garden’ which will be a space for residents to share.
