Music in Hospitals & Care Scotland will visit for the fourth time in four years to Shetland between 24-28 September to bring traditional music to healthcare settings.

The organisation has held over 49,000 concerts for people in care since its establishment in 1980. It aims to bring the benefits of live music to people of all ages living with illnesses or disabilities.

Shetland Gas Plant operator Total E&P UK Limited has given the organisation funding for its tour of the north east of Scotland and the isles.

Claire Bennet, director of Music in Hospitals & Care Scotland, said: “We are delighted to have the continued support of Total E&P UK Limited this year during out 70th anniversary year.

“The long term support we receive from them means we can bring the joy of live music to older people, their families and carers in remote and isolated areas in the north east and Shetland who otherwise would struggle to access such wonderful interactions with live music.”
