Cheshire care home have a sniffing good day

Paw-fect pooches visited a care home in Runcorn to bring joy to its residents.

Simonsfield Care Home welcomed several dogs from Furnominal Pet Services, which provide dog grooming, sitting and walking.

Shelly Tunnicliffe, owner of Furnominal Pet Services, said: “Beth and I took some of our dogs up to Simonsfield Care Homes.

“The joy, happiness, tears and smiles this brought to these residents was totally priceless. Dogs are by far the best therapy.

“I know this as I work with them every day. I was truly touched by what I saw and felt today. And can’t wait to go back again.”

The dogs visit was the first time the business took their dogs into a care home.

Debbie Smith, home manager at Simonfield Care Home, said: “We are so grateful to Furnominal Pet Services for bringing their dogs to meet the residents.

“Everyone thoroughly enjoyed petting the dogs and the residents asked if they could come back again. We hope to see them again soon.”

Simonsfield Care Home is a residential home that provides accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care, Dementia and caring for adults over 65 years of age.
