Catching waves in the home: Bramley care home transforms home for open day

A care home in Bramley held a community open day, bringing together family and friends of its residents to create the atmosphere of a seaside trip.

Cherry Blossom Manor transformed their home into the beach to create the atmosphere and guests were able to walk on a temporary sandy beach in the courtyard around the home – and even a pool of saltwater was featured.

Ice cream was provided the homes hospitality team and there was musical entertainment. The sound of waves and seagulls accompanied the taste of fish and chips throughout the day.

Gigi Despojo, general manager at the home, said: “It was great that so many people came along to celebrate our open day with us, and the entertainment was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Cheery Blossom staff and residents love a good celebration but it’s always extra special when the local community gets involved too.”
