A care home in Buckinghamshire has marked its 10th anniversary with a special ‘high tea’ to celebrate the unveiling of its refurbished café.
Residents, families and members of the care team and Icknield Court Care Home gathered to watch a string duet and partake in an afternoon tea event.
The milestone was marked with a time capsule that included letters and photos from residents which has now been buried in the back garden.
Nicola James, Icknield Court Care Home service manager, said: “We all had a really enjoyable afternoon celebrating our 10th anniversary in the new-look café space, which is the heart of the thriving community here. We look forward to the next ten years of making special memories at Icknield Court.”
The refurbishment is now a much-loved meeting place for residents and their families and there’s a hope the café will encourage social connections.
Ann Main, a residents’ at Icknield Court, said: “It was an honour to be part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the refurbished café. I really enjoy spending time there chatting to others.”
