Four care homes in Hampshire have scooped awards for maintaining an excellent level of end-of-life care.

Malmesbury Lawn in Havant and other care homes have received Platinum accreditation with the Gold Standards Framework – the highest possible industry accolade.

Gold Standards Framework is recognised by several organisations including the Royal College of General Practitioners and the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Councillor Liz Fairhurst, Hampshire County Council, said: “The fact that four of our homes have been re-accredited with the highest level of recognition for the quality of care they provide to those at the end of life, is a testament to the hard work, skill and kindness of our staff.

“There is nothing more important than ensuring residents are cared for with compassion and humanity at the end of their life.”
